There’s a kind of exhaustion that doesn’t come from doing too much—
It comes from being too little of yourself for too long.
It’s not the loud kind of burnout. You’re still getting things done. Still showing up.
But something feels… off.
You catch yourself wondering:
“I should feel more grateful.”
“Other people have it worse.”
“Why do I feel so tired—every day?”
This is the invisible cost of shrinking.
And for many women, it’s been happening slowly, silently, for years.
The Hidden Messages We Learn Early
From childhood on, women are handed subtle scripts about how to belong:
Be kind, but not assertive.
Take care of yourself, but don’t be obvious about it.
Speak up, but don’t make waves.
Look good, but don’t try too hard.
Be helpful, but not needy.
Be confident, but don’t intimidate anyone.
Over time, we internalize these expectations.
We start editing ourselves—our voices, our desires, our presence.
We shrink without realizing it.
Until one day, we say something like this in a whisper:
“I don’t even know what I want anymore.”
“Who am I, really?”
This Isn’t a Crisis. It’s a Return.
From a coaching and NLP perspective, these questions are a sign of awakening—not weakness. You're not falling apart; you're surfacing.
Your deeper self—the one you’ve tucked away to keep the peace—is asking to come back.
This is where the real work begins:
Noticing the roles you’ve outgrown.
Questioning the stories that no longer serve you.
Making space to remember what you actually want.
You don’t need to reinvent yourself.
You just need space to return.
What Happens When You Shrink Too Long?
Emotionally, you may feel disconnected or numb.
Physically, it can manifest as chronic fatigue, anxiety, or burnout that never quite resolves.
Here’s what I often hear from clients:
“I’m tired all the time.”
“I’m doing everything right, but nothing feels good.”
“I used to be passionate about things… now I just go through the motions.”
This is not laziness. It’s not weakness.
It’s a nervous system that’s been in self-protection mode for too long.
How Coaching Helps You Reconnect
My work focuses on this exact moment of transition.
Using NLP, science-based coaching, and deep listening, we explore:
Where you’ve been shrinking
What you’ve been taught about being “too much”
What part of you is ready to come home
You don’t need to justify the desire to feel whole again.
You just need space. Coaching creates that space—gently, without judgment.
Ready to Start the Process?
You’re not too much.
You’re not broken.
You’ve just been carrying too much for too long.
Let’s set some of it down.
