Founded by Jackie Potter, an ICF-certified coach with training in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, the program applies regulation-first principles commonly used in human stress and anxiety work to support pets and the people who care for them.
This approach bridges research, lived experience, and practical guidance, helping caregivers feel informed, supported, and confident as they navigate stress, change, or adjustment with their pets.

The Pet Tranquility Program Model

Pet Tranquility is a science-based regulation support program designed for use by individual caregivers, rescue organizations, and pet-focused businesses.
The program begins with a core regulation support framework centered on education, guidance, and caregiver confidence. Caregivers learn how stress affects the nervous system, how to recognize signs of dysregulation, and how to create calm, predictable routines that support emotional settling over time.

Enrichment activities are an important part of supporting regulation. These activities help reinforce routine, provide appropriate sensory input, and support calm engagement. Caregivers may choose to add enrichment tools through the program or source similar items on their own to support these activities. This flexibility allows Pet Tranquility to remain accessible, ethical, and adaptable across different households and care environments.
The most commonly used option pairs this regulation-focused education and coaching support with simple enrichment tools to help caregivers apply the program with ease. Additional options are available for those who prefer education-only support or more comprehensive assistance.

Who Pet Tranquility Is For and How to Get Started
Pet Tranquility is designed to support pets and caregivers across many situations, not just one moment or life stage.
For Pet Caregivers - Pet Tranquility supports pet families navigating stress, change, or adjustment at any stage of life. This may include adoption, changes in routine, environmental stressors, household transitions, or ongoing challenges with settling and regulation.
The program helps caregivers understand what their pet’s nervous system needs and respond with clarity instead of urgency.

For Rescues and Organizations - Pet Tranquility offers a rescue-safe, low-lift resource that can be shared with adopters or caregivers without adding workload or obligation.
The program is educational, optional, flexible in how enrichment tools are sourced, and aligned with regulation-first animal welfare practices. Participation is always optional for adopters. Rescue teams are not responsible for implementation, follow-up, or product use.
